Festive plans for 2013

Happy New Year!

I really don't want to call these "Resolutions." I'll call them festive plans!

I found a fun list site and laid everything out so I can see it all at once.

Not included on the list: actually rebranding myself with videos and images so people can see the various genres that I play, so they can hire me accordingly. I guess I need a new wardrobe for the heavy metal portion of that program, eh?

Anyway, here are my lists. Have a fabulous 2013!

Artist's way ideas, plus gratitude list for today

It's hilarious that I can't find my "Artist's way" book today. It's somewhere. I can't find my poetry writing book, either. I did the entire book twice before, which led to some great creative ventures. I have writing on the brain lately, but I won't put all the plans out there until I've done the hard work and have something good to show you.

So my small manifesto while I order the books online (sure to coax the spares from their hiding places) is:
1) I'll start the morning pages (really evening pages) now, and connect with others doing the same thing on twitter and Facebook. Strait from the book, it's 3 pages of longhand writing a day. I'll tweet out as #Artistsway.
2) Daily meditation and prayer (personal goal, 2.5 hours)
3) Daily 5-item gratitude list.

Today's gratitude list:
1) Guacamole
2) I'm alive
3) The side of my cat's neck
4) My grandparents and family
5) It's cool to have joints in my fingers, in my knees, and in the rest of my body. I don't take anything for granted.

Love,
Catherine

Hey guys. Let's count our blessings!

I really enjoyed the time I spent on a recent Save the Show fan campaign (http://savecommunitynow.blogspot.com). The other fans, cast, and crew are amazing people.

So I need to move on in a positive, healthy way. First, I'd like to say that I have many talents and abilities that I haven't even developed fully yet, so I may use this blog as a forum for that. I wanted to develop my talents in writing (standup, poetry, novel, short stories) and music.

Every day, I'll try to make a Gratitude List of 5 things. If you'd like to join me, I think that would be a lot of fun. Also, I'll try to collect examples of people doing good things in the world. There's more to life than TV. I need to live and have fun again.

Today's list:
1) I'm alive, my heart is beating, all my faculties and limbs work properly
2) My husband and I always have plentiful food and a roof over our heads
3) I have love in my life (husband, friends, colleagues, cat, grandparents)
4) Playing the violin is an honor, and also very enjoyable
5) I have fun plans for the future, and I have endless hope.

OK, guys. I'll go meditate for a while, try to raise up into a positive mental attitude to shake my depression off. I'm too young, and the world is too beautiful, for me to be in a funk over a TV show! My word!

Love,
Catherine
